About…

Milford St.Textile Mill completes a dream that its owner, Sally Packard, has envisioned for many years; to combine her art practice and love of teaching in a community setting. A communal making space, invigorates all involved through the exchange of ideas and process.

In 2019, Packard opened an e-commerce business, QuirkyDigs, making textile-based home decor and clothing. The addition of Milford St. Textile Mill completes the missing part of her original business plan, to offer classes in conjunction with making products.

Instructor, Sally Packard moved back to the Northeast in 2018. She has professional degrees in costume / set design and a graduate degree in sculpture and painting. For many years she worked in NYC and the U.S in the theater industry. This experience provided her with a broad skill base in sewing, tailoring, prop production and fabric painting / dyeing. After fifteen years in the industry, she worked in New York City’s garment center for a small dress manufacturer. In 1995, she went back to school for her MFA in fine art, focusing on drawing and sculpture. She recently retired from a career in exhibiting and teaching art at the university level. Core to her creative practice is experimentation and a dedication to teaching others.

Creativity is boundless, with no right or wrong way to express oneself.
